Wikipedia lists six expansions of the acronym 'KBS,' tragically none of which are the one I seek. Anyone happen to know the etymology?

You mean Kick Bollock Scramble?

I first heard it at YTV, used by Unit Managers and First ADSs to describe a somewhat hectic and badly planned filming session…

er… it isn’t an acronym, they are jusy initials, NATO is an acronym.

John: in the circumstances, I rather wish ‘PEDANT’ stood for something, but tragically I must instead confess that you are entirely correct, and I am guilty of a schoolboy error. I thank you for your correction. Even if you do have a Nikon D200. Bastard.

Patrick: Yes, that KBS. It’s certainly widely-used in the TV industry, but I don’t think we invented it. It’s quite likely that it’s of military derivation, but given the paucity of Google sightings it’s hard to tell.
